Josephine Baker
This was a biopic project reflecting the life and work of Josephine Baker.
Baker was a signer and dancer from a young age, leaving her birthplace in America to travel to France where she rose to stardom as a performer at clubs like the Folie Bergere.
Baker turned racial stereotypes on their head, laughing at those who propagated them and using them in her shows, taking ownership of stereotypes that aimed to drag her down.
